M&S Biscakes- Nuts for you

It's Valentine Day. A good day to treat myself. What caught my eyes were a Ferrero Rocher-looking treat. I love Ferrero Rocher, so on the impulse, this cupcake entered my basket. It was only when I got home and read it did I realized it's no ordinary cupcake. It got crunchy biscuit base.

Bought from Mark and Spencer. Made in UK. Contain 2 cupcakes. Allergen- dairy, gluten, hazelnuts, egg, and soya. Price: €3 (discounted price)

First bite to the top, overwhelming buttercream sweetness. Hazelnuts pieces would have been forgotten if weren't for it's texture contrast with buttercream.

I had to peel the paper to find the sponge cake part. The buttercream sweetness was tamed after a bite with the sponge.

Only when the biscuit base entered the blend did I realize what a perfect combination of texture and taste. The biscuit base highlight the chocolate side and vice versa. The crunchy hazelnut and biscuit contrast with the melt in mouth butter cream and soft sponge.

For me, there's too much buttercream, which made it overly sweet. Still, I would highly recommend it to chocolate lover.

Umai - Tonkotsu Darkness Ramen & Tempura Seafood Roll

A new restaurant opened near where I worked. Umai, a Japanese Cuisine 😍  I tried it on two different occasions. They got seven options for ramen. A colleague recommended Tonkotsu ramen. So I got Tonkotsu Darkness, which only differ by the addition of black garlic oil.  Price: 13.95 euro Wait time: under 10 mins Looks delicious πŸ˜‹ First taste, the soup. Oh my, so creamy and salty. There's a sweet nutty aftertaste. Then the noodle. So soft, my teeth cut it like butter. The noodle doesn't grasp on some of the soup flavor. The soy bamboo, beansprouts, and scallions add to the flavor and texture. The thing that looks like fried onions weren't noticeable in each bite. From the first impression, there aren't a lot of pork chashu. Actually, there were several. From what I remember at least six pieces with varying thickness. The Pak choi amount seem pitiful when compared to it, just three.  Overall, it's a comfort food. Not something I would crave when compared to my love ...

Sprezzatura - Arancini & Pappardelle Beef Cheek

Price: 12.50 euro (lunch deal+with soft drink) Arancini arrived quickly. This tapas had been tempting me since I saw it on Instagram. Oh, what a comfort food. It's a rice with nearly undetectable cheese center. The crust ❤️ perfection. The sauce was goes hand-in-hand with it. The salt adds a wow feeling. It fit in between the tangy tomato sauce and the gentle cheese.  Just as I polished off the Arancini, my pasta timely arrived with its cheese on the side. What excellent service they have here.  I can smell the beefiness. And look at the portion of it. I can forget about dessert. The first bite, pasta was al dente. First time I had pasta this al dente. Definitely a new world for me since all the pasta I made or bought were never like this. Now I understood what they meant by al dente. The beef cheek remind me of stew beef my mum make. The beef natural flavour is the highlight. There were two bits that were gelatinous. Love it. I wouldn't mind asking for more of those bi...

White Rabbit - Potato Corn Dog

Price- 5.50 euro Allergen- gluten, eggs, fish, soya, milk, sesame Korean style corn dog. White Rabbit offer 4 options. At the price of 5 euro, it's either just sausage, just mozzarella, or half and half. The potato corn dog is the half sausage and half mozzarella with potato chunks coating. Omg, I love the potato coating. It's crunchy and soft 😍. I got all topping, the ketchup, unknown yellow sauce, and sugar. After my mind grasp the potato texture, it is wow by the sugar on savory concept. I knew sugar and boiled egg worked as it was my favourite childhood birthday tradition. Didn't know it could pair just as well with other savory snacks. The and sausage amount was satisfying. A perfect comfort snack. Also a filling one.
